Sunny Beach - the pearl between two historical glories Sunny Beach is a leading tourist destination in Bulgaria. It is a picturesque strip of natural sandy dunes connecting Svety Vlas and Old Nesebar. Situated 42 km north of the second largest city on the Black sea Bourgas it is a perfect blend of nature and modern architecture, which makes it irresistibly fascinating. Remnants of fortress walls from the Thracian period, public and private buildings from the Hellenistic period, medieval churches build during the early Byzantine period and Renaissance buildings they all form a unique, romantic atmosphere on this tiny island.
In 1956 Nesebar was proclaimed an archaeological and architectural reserve and in 1983 the cultural monuments of the town were included in the list of UNESCO. How long does it take to get here? These are a short flight from most UK and European airports of only 2.5 hours.
What is the weather like in here? The temperature of the air during the summer is 30ºC and of the water 25ºC. Hot sunny days are followed by a fresh evening breeze. Perfect for the whole family to enjoy!!
What is the food like? - You will find restaurants with food to suit every taste, from gourmet cuisine, local dishes and fish specialties. You are unlikely to have to spend more than 8 Euros per head on a 3 course meal with wine!. There are a growing number of fast food chains such as McDonalds, pizza and family restaurants.
What is the currency? - The currency is the Lev which is now linked to the Euro. (1.95 Lev to 1Euro)
Do they speak English? - The major resorts and developments welcome and embrace foreign tourists with open arms and the majority of Bulgarians speak English as their second language.
